The “fate worst than death” for a man, supposedly, is to rob him of his manhood. Castration – the removal of the testicles, and emasculation – the removal of both penis and scrotum are the ultimate punishments and – of course – way beyond the bounds of safe, sane, consensual SM. Here we go with a couple of ideas. Many as the first stage of this emasculation regard shaving of the pubic hair. Thus, a slave is kept shaved as a badge of his status as “less than a man.”

Another way to simulate emasculation is through genital isolation. A fairly common method of genital isolation is to mummify a man in saran wrap, duct tape, a bondage suit, wax covered gauze, or some other media and leave his genitals exposed for his pain and pleasure.
